Smoke Blotter® Design Strategy

Smoke Blotter® Phantom Switch™ emission control systems are designed to be both economic and practical. It is the ONLY no smoke exhaust system designated suitable for All Makes and Model Engines per Executive Order California Air Resources Board (CARB), Gold standard for pollution control.

Diesel engines burn cleaner as engine speed increases and subsequent load decreases. But lower speeds and resulting higher loading is common in populated areas where, as it happens, most of us live and work. These two facts influence the design of all Smoke Blotter® emission control systems, primarily focusing on:

  • Protecting People First with location sensitive design
  • Affordable Systems by intermittent use / plain diesel fuel / no after burning
  • Compatibility with other anti-pollution measures cleaner burning engines, low sulfur fuel, catalyst in front of filter, idle time limits, and extraction hose ventilation

Simple Setup and Installation

To install Smoke Blotter® , decide where you want Smog Free Zones , ... in fire houses, aircraft hangars, garages, warehouses, school yards, bus stops, bus stations, hospitals, airports, construction sites, parade grounds, residential areas, tunnels, mines, congested streets, alley-ways or anywhere requiring emissions control.

  1. Mount a Smoke Blotter® Phantom Switch™ low frequency transponder in the center of each zone, either indoors or outdoors.
  2. Equip each diesel vehicle, or apparatus, with a Smoke Blotter® particulate-trap filter kit by mounting it on the exhaust in one day.
  3. Turn on the transmitters.

Equipped vehicles will stop polluting as they enter each Smoke Blotter® Smog Free Zone, regardless of engine speed, engine temperature or time in zone, and will resume normal operation as they leave each zone. Smoke Blotter® is simple, effective, versatile, inexpensive, easy to install and available now.
